I just thought it'd be easier and a simpler process. And so that also kind of constrained, you know, what I was able to look at just given those size parameters.

Yeah, so we had a few months of looking at businesses. I got pretty far along, and I would say this is the first four to five months. Got pretty far along with one deal.
I looked at a – it was actually a hardscaping business, fantastic business, great owner. Because of some of the life changes and family that I support, my father's agent decided that – That was probably going to be a little bit too far away, given that I do care for him.
And I came across Metro Metalworks, I think it was March or April timeframe back in 24. Instantly fell in love with them. It's just a solid business, steady heartbeat and decent growth over the past few years.
I've never heard that. I've never heard that one. What's that? A steady heartbeat. A steady heartbeat as a way to characterize the business.
I like it. I get it. That's a good, that's a new one and a good one.
Well, I mean, the interesting thing is, yeah, I would love to have seen an upward trajectory and just continued, you know, year over year growth, but... Also, I've been around the block long enough and have worked enough in manufacturing to know how these businesses operate and the reality of growing. And it was kind of, I won't say it was clear to me.
It was like they are an inflection point because, oh, yeah, just meaning I think they're at a natural kind of inflection point level of revenues, the size of the business where to get to the next level, I think, yeah, there's going to be some considerable investment. It's very capital intensive business. Oh, I see.
So an inflection point meaning they were going to kind of be stuck where they were unless... they were prepared to really bring new energy and capital investment to getting to the next level.
Yeah, potentially. I mean, there's only so much you can do with headcount when you're very tied down by the equipment that you've got in place. And they had invested, not to say that Metro, they had invested significantly over the years, had bought new capabilities, had experimented with new technologies, cobots and things of that nature. And so that I liked as well.
You know, it showed me that, you know, the president was very open to and knew that they needed to start looking in some different directions. So when I say inflection, just I mean, I think there's significant opportunity and untapped value at stake that we can go after. And that's kind of where our next chapter is and where we're going now.
